How to Access the SOLIDWORKS Software Downloads

SOLIDWORKS software downloads are available for the full installation media, including all available add-ins as well as just the installation manager for a more lightweight installation option. No matter what SOLIDWORKS download you need, TriMech has you covered.

Once equipped with your SOLIDWORKS serial number, you’re just a few short clicks away from using the best-in-class CAD solution.

Accessing SOLIDWORKS Software Downloads

Though the client portal has changed to support 3DEXPERIENCE, you can still find the software downloads you need in the Support section on the SOLIDWORKS website. Once on the site, navigate to the tabs at the top of the screen and select Support>Software & Tools>Recent Releases. On the landing page for Recent Releases, you’ll find a resources page where you can access hardware and system requirements, various support resources, and most importantly, the SOLIDWORKS software downloads. On the downloads page, you can find all the service packs associated for the current software version as well as the three previous releases.

These downloads are only offered to those who have a 3DEXPERIENCE account, so have that ready when you select your product. If you don’t have one, there’s nothing to worry about, as you’ll be able to select the “Create an account” option when you get to the 3DEXPERIENCE login page. There will also be a Customer License and Online Services Agreement for you to read through and accept before you can access the downloads and other resources provided on the SOLIDWORKS website.

TriMech’s 3DEXPERIENCE Client Dashboard

If you made your software license purchase through the TriMech Group, you more than likely had a member from our technical staff reach out to you with some additional links to get you started during a formal onboarding session. Starting July 2023, Dassault Systèmes began including Cloud Services with every new license of SOLIDWORKS purchased as part of the subscription offer.

To support our clients, TriMech has made it easier for them to access all necessary resources. Along with sending the personalized, one-time activation link for clients to set up their 3DEXPERIENCE tenant, our technical staff also started providing a pre-configured dashboard template that clients could save on their platform. That way, every time they logged in, they could readily access the serial numbers, contact our tech support, and find additional resources associated with their subscriptions.

SOLIDWORKS Downloads on the Client Dashboard

On the SOLIDWORKS Downloads tab, the most recent releases for SOLIDWORKS 2023, 2024, and 2025 can be accessed and downloaded. There is also a helpful guide that helps troubleshoot any download issues, such as issues with the installation manager.

These downloads won’t require a 3DEXPERIENCE ID like directly downloading from the SOLIDWORKS Support site. However, since these are hosted on the TriMech internal ShareFile, you will just need to input basic information like name, email, and company. With that information input, the software download will start, and you’ll soon be on your way.

Requesting Older SOLIDWORKS Versions

While we recommend staying up to date with the latest SOLIDWORKS updates, sometimes you may need access to an older version of SOLIDWORKS that is not readily available on the SOLIDWORKS Support site. This could be due to working with a client or vendor using an old version, or just staying on an older version to support another system. In situations like this, the TriMech Support Team can get you whatever version you require.

Installing SOLIDWORKS

Regardless of how you get your SOLIDWORKS download, you’ll need to go into the installation media and run the SOLIDWORKS Setup application. The Installation Manager will ask you how you plan to install SOLIDWORKS and prompt for the SOLIDWORKS serial number. If you have a standalone license, you can “Install on this computer”, where SOLIDWORKS network licenses will first need to install the server components and then install on individual user machines.

Be sure to have your serial number ready as you start running through the Installation Manager, and before you know it, you’ll be off and running with your new SOLIDWORKS software.
