Desktop Metal Studio+

The Desktop Metal Studio System+ is an office-friendly metal 3D printer, that is ten times less expensive than comparable laser-based systems. It's the only end-to-end metal 3D printing system that is cost-effective for engineering groups.

Product Description

Unlike laser-based systems that selectively melt metal powder, the Studio+ printer extrudes bound metal rods—similar to how a plastic FDM printer works. This process is called Bound Metal Deposition (BMD). This eliminates the safety requirements associated with metal 3D printing while enabling new features like the use of closed-cell infill for lightweight strength. The system includes a printer, debinder and furnace to automate metal 3D printing through the integration with Desktop Metal’s cloud-based software.

Studio Fleet™
Built to scale, Studio Fleet leverages Studio System+’s technology for the rapid production of high-quality, complex metal parts. With customization options, Studio Fleet can deliver up to 5x the throughput of the original three-part system (one printer, one debinder and one furnace) for only twice the investment. Studio Fleet is available to be built in two configurations:
• 3:1:1
With 3 printers + 1 debinder + 1 furnace, customers can realize a 200 percent increase in throughput for only a 50 percent increase in system cost.
• 5:2:1
With 5 printers + 2 debinders + 1 furnace, users will be able to realize 400 percent increase in throughput for only a 100 percent increase in system cost.
