MakerBot Carbon Fiber Extruder

Composite Carbon Fiber filaments combine carbon fiber and another type of filament material, such as nylon, to produce strong, light-weight, carbon fiber-like parts with superior three-dimensional strength and accuracy. The new carbon fiber extruder for the MakerBot METHOD series of 3D printers comes with robust metal drive gears, a metal filament detection switch and swappable nozzle assembly which can print composite carbon fiber and other MakerBot METHOD official materials.

Product Description

This Carbon Fiber extruder is available as an add-on for existing METHOD or METHOD X printers. You can also purchase either a METHOD or METHOD X machine with the new extruder kit included. To use the Carbon Fiber extruder, you can swap the extruder into the model bay of the METHOD or METHOD X and simply adjust the setting in the MakerBot Print software. 

Exclusive to this MakerBot extruder is the carbon fiber nylon material which is compatible with the SR-30 and PVA support materials. Carbon fiber reinforced nylon is optimized for high strength, stiffness, and heat resistance making it ideal for structural applications and metal replacements.
