In May 2016, Stratasys released GrabCad Print, a sophisticated 3D printing app that allows designers and engineers to prepare, schedule and monitor 3D printing jobs. Since its release, GrabCAD has continued to make exciting updates to this software; and I will be updating you every month on its new features – August 2017 launches GrabCAD Print 1.9.
GrabCAD Print Welcomes Nylon
For all of you having to switch between GrabCAD Print and Insight for printing nylon, worry no more. You can now program nylon materials through GrabCAD Print with your Fortus Systems.
Use of Sacrificial Tower
GrabCAD 1.9 also has the ability to use Sacrificial tower. This can help improve the seam quality, which is required when printing with Nylon 12CF.
Improve Job Notifications
You guessed it! GrabCAD job notification just got even better. Now, if a material runs out during or before the job, an icon will show in the schedule view. Also, the total number of printers with warnings will show as a count on the schedule view icon on the left side of the application.
Export .CSV Files
Users can now export a .CSV file containing the job history of the printers from the printer panel (for FDM technology only). This allows customers using offline mode to get job history data needed to enable reports.
Print from SOLIDWORKS
Also, did you know you can print within SOLIDWORKS? GrabCAD released an Add-in that installs with software and allows users to view GrabCAD print straight from SOLIDWORKS. This makes for an easier workflow to have all your tools in one place.
Hope these updates were useful. Leave comments about your favorite GrabCAD features below, and be sure to check back each month for more tips and tricks on the latest version of GrabCAD Print.
