In May 2016, Stratasys released GrabCad Print, a sophisticated 3D printing app that allows designers and engineers to prepare, schedule and monitor 3D printing jobs. Since its release, GrabCAD has continued to make exciting updates to this software; and I will be updating you every month on its new features – December 2017 launches GrabCAD Print 1.12 and 1.13.
Report Feature
GrabCAD has put the focus on bringing local information to you in the software rather than having to go to a website/cloud with reports. Now, you can view reports in GrabCad Print (Desktop app). This will be useful to those who need to run their set up in offline mode. Follow these steps to use the Report Feature.
Step 1: Click the Reports button.
Step 2: Then you will see Printer History. Here, select your printer.
It will generate a list of “Jobs from the History”. However, you can filter those jobs to find a specific one and download them as a CSV if needed.
Stratasys J750 Materials Update
Stratasys J750 underwent a materials update and can now support Agilus, VeroFlex, and DABS2. This update is reflected under the tray materials selection in GrabCAD Print.
Now, you don’t have to worry about individual file or tray size limits. Prior to this update, this was 2GB but now this has been removed. Also, you will no longer be blocked from switching views while operations are in progress and view estimates will automatically populate when slicing.
In addition, you can send a job from GrabCad Print on a remote PC to the J750. This will eliminate the need of having to run back and forth between your workstation and the print server.
Provide Feedback
We are excited to see what will come next year in GrabCAD Print. However, if you would like to request something that you feel is missing or could be improved, you can let the team over at GrabCAD know by providing your feedback under the help section.
