Looking at xDesign for example, which is feature-based parametric solid modeler on the platform, there are several ways it has been designed to complement existing SOLIDWORKS workflows and speed up the process:

• Designs can immediately be posted on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for internal review, or review by clients and stakeholders, using the 3DPlay app which allows a full model preview without needing a SOLIDWORKS seat.
• Some edits and design changes to SOLIDWORKS files can be made directly using xDesign on the cloud, and for those that require the full functionality of SOLIDWORKS, there is a plugin that allows you to access all online files directly from your desktop version. Simply download the part or assembly, edit and re-upload for additional review all without opening your web browser.
• Since xDesign and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform are on the cloud, other teammates or clients can provide feedback from any device, even a mobile tablet, so you don’t need to wait for them to be at their workstation computer to contribute.

Precise Data Management With Remote Access

Using add-in applications like 3DEXPERIENCE Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), you can still utilize SOLIDWORKS for creating and modifying CAD files, with the bonus that your data will be managed and stored in the 3DEXPERIENCE Collaborative Space in the cloud. Again, this increased visibility will ensure that your design process is being managed in real-time, no matter where the files are created or edited.
