ROLES

As an admin or owner of your company, you can assign roles to your employees based on what they need to accomplish their work goals. Each role has different apps that are included within. The two roles that are advised to have to get started are the Collaborative Business Innovator and the Collaborative Industry Innovator. These two roles provide the basic apps for 3DEXPERIENCE. The rest of the hundreds of roles are more specific with more detailed apps included.

APPS

Apps are the main event of 3DEXPERIENCE! Each app is tailored to a specific tool you can use for your user experience. Because 3DEXPERIENCE is a Dassault Systems product, there is a SOLIDWORKS app included. In short, you can use SOLIDWORKS online! By using the “Design with SOLIDWORKS” app, you can have the software at the tip of your hands. There are also multiple CAD apps built into the 3DEXPERIENCE roles that behave much like SOLIDWORKS itself. These include XShape, XDesign, and XFrame. These apps and others allow multiple employees to work on designs and projects together, without the need for sharing a network or a SOLIDWORKS or PDM software on a single computer. Apps can be customized in your dashboard to your liking!

DASHBOARD

The dashboard is your working space in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. You can add multiple dashboards to your screen and add or remove apps however you see fit to aid in your workflow and efficiency. Simply clicking and dragging an app from the app selection toolbar creates a window that launches the app you’ve chosen. Having a personalized dashboard allows for a reliable employee that is confident in their ability to use 3DEXPERIENCE.

The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform is still new to most, but more features are arriving all the time to provide a more efficient workspace for you and your business and coworkers. By understanding the basic features of the platform and finding what organization is best for you, your company can achieve all your goals in one place with the freedom to work however is best for all!
