The DriveWorks software is used for Design Automation and Sales Configuration by companies large and small. Whether you are an engineer that needs Design Automation to automate your SOLIDWORKS models, or a company wanting to provide a Product Configurator and Guided Selling for your sales teams, distributors and even customers, DriveWorks software is the ultimate choice for SOLIDWORKS.
DriveWorks World
Each year DriveWorks hosts DriveWorks World, where users from all around attend to advance technical knowledge, meet DriveWorks employees and developers, learn what’s new in the latest DriveWorks version, and become a Certified DriveWorks Professional (CDWP). This year TriMech sent four engineers to DriveWorks World to support our clients who attended as well as get even more of our team certified.
Days 1-2
The first two days at DriveWorks World were dedicated to training and certifications. The venue location (Microtek) was perfect for this. There were two tracks that could be taken, DriveWorks Pro training or Sales Configurator training. In the DriveWorks Pro training, users could learn about DriveWorks Pro and Design Automation and become certified in DriveWorks. TriMech’s own Ralph Gillis and David Ramsey attended this track and became certified adding to the TriMech DriveWorks team!
The second track focused on the Sales Configurator training. Diving even deeper on the user interface and form design of DriveWorks in order to create great looking interfaces, automated quotes and tie it all in with automation!
Days 3-4
After lots of learning in the first two days, we got a bit of a break on Tuesday evening for the What’s New in DriveWorks 17 event. DriveWorks reserved a local pub where the presentation took place along with dinner and drinks! It was great to socialize with other DriveWorks users and hear how uniquely companies are using DriveWorks. There are some amazing new features and enhancements in DriveWorks 17.
DriveWorks World days 3-5 were what’s known as the “advanced sessions” but don’t let the name fool you, there were breakout sessions for everyone. From hands-on sessions meant to help hone your skills on a specific topic such as creating the perfect automated drawing using DriveWorks, to shorter lectures that covered everything from Running DriveWorks in the cloud, to an ERP integration lecture given by the CEO himself, Glen Smith.
After those last three days of content, everyone had new plans and ideas on how to take their DriveWorks Design Automation and CPQ project to the next level. DriveWorks World alternates each year between a location in the states and their headquarters location in the United Kingdom. Next year will be a bit of a trip but I know everyone who attends always ends up leaving refreshed, energized and full of new knowledge ready to tackle the sales and automation issues back at the office. DriveWorks World is always a great learning experience filled with tons of different topics, community, socializing and problem-solving. We are already looking forward to DriveWorks World 2020, and we hope to see some more of you there as well!
