Tired of looking at your model from the same perspective? In this Video Tech Tip, we walk you through how to switch up the angle on your print and create new views in SOLIDWORKS.
Whether you are creating a 3D model or 2D drawing, sometimes it’s necessary to see a part outside of the standard front, right, top or isometric views. You can manipulate the view in SOLDIWORKS by grabbing your part and rotating the angle or clicking space bar and using the Orientation dialogue box to change the view orientation.
In the Orientation dialogue box, users can select a standard view, activate the View Sector, use viewports and even create custom views (demonstrated in video). To create a custom view, click New View and name it accordingly. Once created, go to the View Palette in a new drawing and start using the new, alternative view you created.
